Manager's Guide

Everything you need to know to support your team members effectively

Core Principles

Focus Mode: 3 Active Experiments

You can only have 3 active adjustments per team member at any time. This constraint helps you prioritize what matters most and prevents overwhelm.

Listen First, Act Second

Each team member has a 'Working With Me' guide created from their own words. Read it carefully before making any changes.

Check In Regularly

The system will send automated check-ins, but don't wait for them. Have informal conversations to see what's working and what's not.

Review & Iterate

Adjustments have review dates for a reason. Mark what's working as 'Completed' and pause what isn't to make room for new experiments.

The Workflow

1

New Team Member Joins

HR sends them the inclusive onboarding form. They share how they work best in their own words.

2

AI Creates Their Guide

The system generates a clear 'Working With Me' summary and suggests 3 initial support actions.

3

You Review & Implement

Read their guide, understand their needs, and start implementing the suggested actions.

4

Track Progress

Mark adjustments as Active when implemented. The system limits you to 3 active experiments.

5

Regular Check-ins

At weeks 2, 4, and 12, the team member gets a check-in. Low scores automatically flag to you and HR.

6

Review & Adapt

When a review date arrives, assess what's working. Complete successful adjustments to make room for new ones.

Understanding Focus Mode

The 3-adjustment limit isn't arbitrary—it's based on research showing that trying to implement too many changes at once reduces effectiveness. By limiting active experiments to 3, you:

  • Focus your energy on what matters most
  • Give each adjustment time to show results
  • Avoid overwhelming the team member with too many changes
  • Create a clear feedback loop on what works

Tip: If you want to add a 4th adjustment, review your current 3 first. Mark successful ones as 'Completed' or pause ones that aren't working to make room.

Do This

  • Read their 'Working With Me' guide carefully
  • Implement all 3 initial actions within the first month
  • Check in informally between automated check-ins
  • Complete or pause adjustments that aren't helping
  • Ask the team member what they need, don't assume

Avoid This

  • Don't try to implement more than 3 active adjustments
  • Don't share their profile beyond approved visibility level
  • Don't make assumptions based on labels or diagnoses
  • Don't treat adjustments as 'set and forget'
  • Don't wait for them to ask for help
